In a saucepan place sugar, oleo, salt and syrup; bring to a boil.
Boil 5 minutes.
Add 1 teaspoon baking soda.
Pour over popcorn on a large baking sheet.
Stir well.
Bake at 250Β° for 1 hour.
Stir well every 15 minutes.
