Applesauce Oatmeal Cookies
Applesauce Oatmeal Cookies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. soft shortening or margarine, 2 c. brown sugar (packed), 1 c. applesauce, 4 1/2 c. sifted flour and 1 tsp. soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Mix well the shortening, brown sugar and eggs.
Stir in applesauce.
Sift together flour, soda, salt and spices.
Stir into sugar and shortening mixture.
Add raisins, nuts and oats. Drop by teaspoonful onto greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 375Β° for 10 to 12 minutes.
Makes 8 dozen.
