Applesauce Fruit Cake
Applesauce Fruit Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 c. shortening, 3 eggs, beaten, 1 qt. applesauce, 2 tsp. cinnamon and 1/2 tsp. allspice, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs.
Dissolve soda in applesauce, then add to fruit mixture.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add slowly and beat.
Add nuts, raisins and mixed fruits.
Bake in large tube pan on 250° for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Cut up to 300° and bake for 30 minutes.
