Applesauce Cake
Applesauce Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. shortening, 1 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1 egg, 1 c. thick applesauce and 1 tsp. soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Cream shortening, sugar and egg together.
Dissolve soda in applesauce and add to mixture.
Add salt and spices and part of flour.
Add enough flour to make fairly stiff.
