Apple Salad
Apple Salad is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. sugar, 1/3 c. all-purpose flour, 1 large can crushed pineapple, 2 tsp. butter or margarine and 1 (12 oz.) container cool whip, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Sift flour and sugar.
Mix in pineapple with juice.
Cook until thick (4 to 5 minutes).
Add margarine or butter; let cool completely.
Chop apples, one at a time; add to mixture.
Add a little Cool Whip to mixture.
Put in dish.
Cover with remaining Cool Whip; top with nuts and cherries.
You can put half of the nuts in mixture and the other half on top.
Cool 24 hours.
