Apple Rings
Apple Rings is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 1 stick margarine, 1/2 c. brown sugar, 2 c. water and 4 c. apples, chopped, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Mix sugars, margarine and water together in a large baking dish.
Put in a 400° oven until bubbly. Sift flour and salt together. Cut shortening into flour. Add the water gradually until it holds together.
Roll out dough and cut into a rectangle about 10 x 12-inches.
Chop 4 cups apples.
Place on dough. Sprinkle with sugar if apples are tart.
Roll up pastry and slice into 1-inch pieces.
Place in hot syrup. Sprinkle cinnamon on top. Bake 45 minutes or until done in a 350° oven.
