Apple Pie Supreme
Apple Pie Supreme is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. graham cracker crumbs, 2 tbsp. melted butter, 4 or 5 granny smith apples, 1 1/4 c. water and 3/4 c. sugar, divided, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Mix cracker crumbs and melted butter.
Press in bottom of 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan.
Peel apples.
Cut in pieces. Simmer apples, 1/4 cup sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg until apples are just tender, 1 or 2 minutes.
Add cornstarch which has been dissolved in cold water.
Simmer approximately 5 minutes.
Cool. Cream butter and 1/2 cup sugar.
Blend in flour until crumbly to make topping.
Pour cooled apple filling over graham cracker crust.
Sprinkle topping over apples.
Bake at 350Β° for 40 to 45 minutes.
