Apple Pie
Apple Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. jonathan apples, sliced, 1 c. sugar, divided into thirds, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, 1 tsp. lemon juice and 2 tbsp. flour, divided, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Peel, core and slice apples and sprinkle with lemon juice. Stir together 1/3 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon flour and cinnamon and sprinkle over apples.
Stir together another 1/3 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon flour and sprinkle over bottom of 8-inch pie crust. Arrange apples on top.
Sprinkle last 1/3 cup sugar on apples and dot top with butter slices.
Arrange top crust.
Bake in preheated oven at 400° for 15 minutes.
Reduce oven to 350° and continue baking until apples are tender when pierced with a fork, about 45 minutes.
