Apple Pickle

Peel apples evenly and if perfect, leave them whole. Otherwise, cut in quarters.
Heat the vinegar and sugar until it boils; skim well.
Put the spices in a thin muslin bag and add to vinegar, then add all the apples.
Cook slowly until fruit is done.
Put in fruit jars.
Boil syrup down and pour over the fruit; seal while hot.
