Apple-Nut Cake

Combine apples and sugar and let stand.
Beat eggs slightly. Beat in oil and vanilla.
Combine sifted flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
Stir in alternately with apple-sugar mixture. Stir in nuts.
Pour into greased oblong pan, 13 x 9 x 2-inch. Bake at 350Β° for 1 hour.
Let cool.
Frost if desired with lemon frosting.
