Apple Jacks
Apple Jacks is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. flour, 3/4 c. shortening or oleo, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. baking powder and 15 apples, sliced thin, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Beat water and egg yolks together.
Mix flour, oleo, salt, baking powder, water and egg yolks like crust.
Mix sugar, 1/3 cup flour and cinnamon and pour over apples to coat.
Roll crust, put on cookie sheet (with sides) and fill with apple mixture.* Top with crust, prick with fork and bake at 400Β° for 25 minutes.
Dribble confectioners sugar icing when removed from oven while warm.
