Add all dry ingredients with shortening and mix good and fine.

Add milk and mix until forms dough.

Do not over mix as dough will get tough.

Roll out about 1/8 to 1/4 inch thick.

Cut squares big enough to cover whole apple.

Sprinkle a little sugar and cinnamon in center of apple and wrap in dough.

Place in baking pan about 1 to 2 inches apart.

Pour syrup over apples, and then bake at 375Β° for about 35 minutes or until knife inserts easily.
