Apple Crisp

Made with 2 lb. tart cooking apples, peeled, cored and cut in 1/2-inch lengthwise slices (about 4 large), 1 1/3 c. sugar, 1 c. flour, lightly spooned into the cup, 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon and 1/2 c. butter or melted margarine, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Spread apples in buttered shallow baking dish (about 2-quart capacity).
Combine sugar, flour and cinnamon.
Mix butter and vanilla and add to flour mixture, tossing with a fork to make a crumbly mixture.
Sprinkle evenly over apples.
Bake at 400Β° for 30 to 40 minutes or until brown and apples are tender.
Let cool partially, then top with cream.
