Preheat oven to 350Β°.
Place apples and water in bottom of 10 x 6-inch glass baking dish.
Mix flour, sugars, cinnamon and salt in a bowl.
Cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over apples.
Bake for 40 minutes.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.
