Apple Cobbler
Apple Cobbler is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 1 tbsp. self-rising flour, 1 stick margarine, melted, 1 egg, beaten and apples, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Mix ingredients together and set aside.
In an 8 x 8-inch square Pyrex dish, slice thinly about 1-inch apples.
Remove the crust from white bread and slice into 1-inch strips.
Place strips of bread, meeting in center of dish, close together.
Pour or spoon the margarine mixture over the bread strips and bake at 350Β° for 30 to 35 minutes.
If using Stamen or Winesap apples, bake 45 to 50 minutes.
Peaches or strawberries can be used.
