Angel Biscuits
Angel Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. sugar, 1 c. shortening, 1 c. whole wheat flour, 4 c. all-purpose flour and 2 c. buttermilk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Preheat oven to 400Β°.
Dissolve yeast in warm water to which a pinch of sugar has been added.
Set aside.
Combine all flour, soda, salt and sugar.
Cut in shortening.
Add yeast and buttermilk.
Knead enough to hold together.
Roll out 1/2 inch thick and cut.
Bake 15 to 20 minutes.
Yields 2 dozen.
