Combine flour, soda and sugar; cut in shortening.

Add yeast mixture and buttermilk; mix with hands until dough is formed.

May be made into biscuits immediately or kept in refrigerator as long as two weeks (if air is worked out everyday), then make into biscuits as needed.

Bake fifteen minutes at 375Β°.

Makes 3 to 4 dozen biscuits.
