Angel Biscuits
Angel Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 envelope dry yeast, 1/4 cup warm water, 5 cups flour, 1 tsp. soda and 5 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Dissolve yeast in water in small bowl.
Set aside.
Sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt and sugar into large bowl.
Mix in shortening until mixture is crumbly.
Stir in buttermilk to yeast mixture, then add to flour mixture.
Turn out onto floured surface.
Roll about 1/4- 1/2 inch thick.
Place on greased baking dish.
Let rise for 1 1/2 hours. Bake in 400 degree oven about 15 minutes.
Makes about 15 biscuits.
Some of the dough can be refrigerated and baked another time if you wish.
