Angel Biscuits
Angel Biscuits is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. active dry yeast, 5 c. all-purpose flour, 3 tsp. baking powder, 1 1/2 tsp. salt and 2 c. buttermilk or sweet milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Sift all dry ingredients into large bowl.
Mix in shortening with pastry blender.
Add milk, then yeast mixture.
Stir until thoroughly moistened.
Turn onto floured board and knead a minute or two (no rising is required). Roll to desired thickness (1/2 inch is recommended) and cut into rounds.
Brush with melted butter and bake on ungreased pan at 400Β° for 12 to 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
Baked biscuits freeze well.
