Mix coconut and pecans and spread evenly in bottom of a greased 9 x 13-inch pan. Mix the cake mix according to package directions. Pour over coconut and pecans.
In a saucepan, melt butter with cream cheese; heat until it is soft enough to whip in the powdered sugar. Spoon evenly over cake batter in pan. Bake at 350Β° for 35 to 40 minutes. Cool thoroughly before cutting.
