9-Layer Salad
9-Layer Salad is an moderately easy salad you can prepare in about 1 hour 30 minutes. Made with lettuce, c. green pepper, c. celery, spanish onion and . frozen peas, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Break lettuce in bite size pieces.
Chop celery and green pepper very fine.
Slice the onion thin.
Do not cook peas; layer all these and then sugar over this.
Sprinkle 2 or more teaspoons grated Cheddar cheese.
Fry the bacon crisp and crumble on top. Cover with foil and refrigerate overnight.
The salad will do its own combining during this time.
Don't stir.
Should any be leftover, it will keep nicely for 2 or 3 days if covered tightly with foil.
