7 Layer Salad is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 head lettuce, 1/2 c. finely chopped onion, 1/2 c. finely chopped celery, 1/2 c. finely chopped green pepper and 2 tbsp. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Spread bite-sized bits of lettuce on bottom of large salad bowl.

Sprinkle onion, celery and green pepper in layers on top of lettuce.

Add parboiled peas.

Sprinkle 1 tablespoon sugar on top. Spread 1 pint of mayonnaise on top (like icing) until entirely covered.

Sprinkle Cheddar cheese (grated) on top.

Cover with plastic wrap and set in refrigerator for 6 to 8 hours.

Will keep well for 2 to 3 days.
