Yuletide Cookie Logs
Yuletide Cookie Logs is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. butter, 3/4 c. sugar, 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla, 1 egg and 2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Preheat oven to 350Β°.
Mix butter, sugar and vanilla thoroughly.
Beat in egg.
Blend in flour and salt.
Mix in 1/2 cup chocolate chips.
Shape into 2-inch logs using level teaspoonful for each.
Place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake 12 to 14 minutes; let cool.
Melt remaining chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon of shortening.
Dip ends of each cookie into chocolate and roll immediately in nuts.
Place on waxed paper until set. Makes 8 dozen.
