Yeast Rolls
Yeast Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. warm water, 2 pkg. yeast, dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water, 1/3 c. sugar, 1 tsp. salt and 1/2 c. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.
In a large mixing bowl, add 1 cup warm water and sugar.
In a small bowl, dissolve dry yeast in 1/4 cup warm water.
Add yeast to sugar and water and mix.
Add salt, shortening and egg.
Add the flour, 1 cup at a time until dough becomes workable.
Knead dough, let rise until doubled.
Form into rolls and place in a baking dish; let rise again.
Bake at 450Β° for 20 to 30 minutes, until golden brown.
Pat tops with butter.
