Yeast Bread
Yeast Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. milk, 1 yeast cake, 2 tbsp. sugar, 1 1/2 tsp. salt and 4 1/2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

And measure the milk.
Add the yeast cake, sugar and salt; mix thoroughly.
Add about 1/2 the flour, mix well. Add the shortening remaining flour.
The dough quickly and lightly, until it is smooth and elastic.
Grease lightly. Allow to rise in a warm place (80°) until doubled in bulk. This will require about 2 hours.
Punch down.
Let rise about 45 minutes.
Mold into loaves and let rise about 1 hour. Bake at 380° until done.
