Mix yeast, sugar and 1/4 cup warm water.
Sift flour and soda. Mix with milk, shortening and yeast mixture.
Put in covered container.
Store in refrigerator.
Use as needed.
Will keep for several days.
Bake at 400Β° for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
