Winter Warm-Up is an impressive dinner. Made with 5 c. water, 1 c. lentils, 1/2 c. barley, 1 c. celery, chopped or celery tops and 1 medium onion, chopped, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Pick over lentils for stones and weed seeds.
Rinse and add to water in a crock-pot or cooking pot.
Add barley, celery, onion, potatoes, carrots, herbs and tomato paste.
Simmer until tender. Add parsley and sugar substitute.
Salt to taste.
