Combine water, corn syrup, sugar and cream of tartar of salt in saucepan.
Stir over medium heat about 3 or 4 minutes or until you can hold your spoon up and it makes a string.
Beat egg white in bowl until stiff.
Pour syrup mixture slowly into egg whites while beating.
Add vanilla.
Beat until you think it is thick enough to spread on cake.
