White Bread
White Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. milk, 3 tbsp. sugar, 1 1/2 tsp. salt, 2 tbsp. shortening and 1 pkg. dry yeast, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Cook milk, sugar, salt and shortening on stove until shortening is melted, then set aside to cool.
Dissolve yeast in warm water. In bowl, add 1 cup flour and mix with hand mixer.
Then pour in yeast, stir with spoon and add remaining flour.
Mix well with hands.
Let rise in bowl for 1 hour.
Put in greased loaf pans to rise.
Bake at 375Β° for 40 minutes.
Makes 2 loaves.
