Boil raisins in water.
Save 1 cup juice that raisins were boiled in.
Cream butter or shortening with sugar.
Add beaten egg yolks to shortening mixture.
Add soda and whiskey to raisin juice.
Mix with shortening mixture.
Add flour, raisins and nuts.
Fold in egg whites.
Bake at 350Β° for 40 minutes.
