Combine sugar, walnuts and egg. Spread thinly on greased jelly roll pan.

Bake in moderate oven for 18 to 20 minutes at 350Β°. Cool to room temperature and crush.

Sprinkle half of crumbs in bottom of 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan.

Combine pudding mix, sour cream and milk; beat on low speed of electric mixer 1 to 2 minutes.

Fold in sliced bananas.

Spoon over crumbs in pan; top with remaining crumbs.

Chill several hours.

Cut in squares.

Serves 9.
