Valerie's Best Brownies
Valerie'S Best Brownies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3/4 c. hershey's cocoa, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, 2/3 c. butter or margarine, melted and divided in half, 1/2 c. boiling water and 2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Heat oven to 350Β°.
Grease rectangular pan (13 x 9 x 2-inch). In medium mixing bowl, combine cocoa and baking soda.
Blend in 1/3 cup melted butter.
Add boiling water; stir until mixture thickens.
Stir in sugar, eggs and remaining 1/3 cup melted butter; stir until smooth.
Add flour, vanilla and salt; blend completely.
Stir in nuts, if desired, and chocolate chunks.
Pour into prepared pan.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan.
Cool completely in pan; cut into squares.
Makes about 36 brownies.
