Turtle Fudge
Turtle Fudge is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. sugar, 3/4 c. oleo, 1 small can pet milk, 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces and 30 caramels, quartered, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Combine sugar, oleo and milk in heavy saucepan (2 1/2 to 3-quart size).
Bring to full rolling boil, stirring constantly. Boil 5 minutes over medium heat until candy thermometer reaches 234Β° or soft ball stage, stirring constantly to prevent scorching. Remove from heat; add chocolate and stir until well blended.
Add remaining ingredients and beat until well blended.
Pour into 9 x 13-inch pan.
Cool at room temperature.
Cut into squares.
Makes 3 1/2 pounds.
