Turtle Cake
Turtle Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 box german chocolate or swiss chocolate cake mix, 1/2 c. margarine, 1 c. water, 1 c. oil and 3 eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Cut margarine into cake mix.
Add water, cooking oil, eggs and 1/2 can of sweetened condensed milk.
Pour half of batter into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. While cake bakes, melt caramels and remaining 1/2 can of sweetened condensed milk.
Stir in pecans; spread over hot cake. Add remaining cake batter; bake another 30 minutes at 350°.
