Turtle Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 box german chocolate cake mix, 14 oz. bag caramels, 12 oz. can evaporated milk, 1 stick margarine and 1 c. (6 oz.) chocolate chips, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Preheat oven to 350Β°.

Grease 9 x 13-inch pan.

Blend cake mix with melted margarine and 1/2 can of milk.

Spread 1/2 batter in pan.

Bake 15 minutes.

Melt caramels in 1/2 can milk while cake bakes.

Spread over baked cake.

Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts on top.

Spread remaining batter on top and bake 15 minutes more. Serve with ice cream or whipped cream.
