Turtle Cake
Turtle Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with german chocolate cake mix, 3/4 c. butter, 1/2 c. evaporated milk, 14 oz. caramels and 1 c. chocolate chips, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Prepare cake mix according to package directions.
Pour 1/2 of batter into a prepared 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
Combine butter, milk and caramels.
Heat until caramels are melted and mixture is smooth.
Purée over baked cake.
Sprinkle with chocolate chips and nuts.
Top with remaining batter and bake 20 minutes or until done.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar when cooled.
