Turtle Cake
Turtle Cake is an moderately easy dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 12 minutes. Made with box german chocolate cake mix, eggs, c. margarine, melted, c. water and c. evaporated milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Mix well, first 4 ingredients.
Melt in double boiler, milk and caramels.
Pour 1/2 of cake mixture in 9 x 13-inch glass dish and bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
Remove from oven.
Put caramel mixture over cake.
Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans over this and pour the rest of cake mixture on top.
Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.
