Turtle Cake
Turtle Cake is an moderately easy dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 16 minutes. Made with box german chocolate cake, (14 oz.) bag caramels, c. evaporated milk, c. butter and c. chocolate chips, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Mix the cake according to directions.
Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan and pour 1/2 the batter into pan.
Put this half of cake in oven and bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
In a saucepan over low heat, melt caramels with butter and milk.
Remove cake from oven and pour the caramel mixture over the half-baked cake.
Top with chocolate chips and pecans.
Pour remaining cake mix over the top and return to oven.
Bake at 350° for another 20 minutes.
