Turtle Cake
Turtle Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (14 oz.) bag vanilla caramels, 1/2 c. margarine, 1 (5 oz.) can evaporated milk, 1 german chocolate cake mix and 1 c. chopped pecans, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Melt first 3 ingredients over stove in pan, about 6 minutes; stir.
Mix cake mix according to directions on box.
Pour 1/2 cake mixture into oiled 9 x 13-inch pan and bake at 350Β° for 10 minutes.
Pour caramel mixture evenly over cake.
Sprinkle chopped nuts and chocolate chips over caramel.
Spread remaining cake batter over and return to oven for another 20 minutes. Check with toothpick.
Test just top layer. Refrigerate.
