Turtle Cake
Turtle Cake is an moderately easy dessert you can prepare in about 1 hour 32 minutes. Made with german chocolate cake mix, (14 oz.) bag caramels, c. oleo, c. evaporated milk and c. chocolate chips, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Prepare German chocolate cake mix according to directions on box.
Put 1/2 batter in greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 350° for 15 minutes.
In small saucepan, melt caramels, oleo and evaporated milk.
Heat until melted.
Pour on cake.
Sprinkle chocolate chip pieces and 1 cup pecans evenly over caramel mixture.
Pour remaining batter on top.
Sprinkle remaining pecans on top.
Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 minutes.
