Turtle Cake
Turtle Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 14 oz. caramels, 1/2 c. evaporated milk, 1/4 c. oleo, 1 box german chocolate cake mix and 1/2 c. evaporated milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Melt caramels, 1/2 cup evaporated milk and oleo in double boiler.
Mix together cake mix and 1/2 cup evaporated milk (batter will be thick).
Preheat oven to 350Β°.
Grease 9 x 13-inch pan. Spread half cake mixture in pan.
Bake 7 minutes.
Remove from oven and spread with caramel.
Sprinkle with chocolate chips and chopped nuts.
Use a teaspoon and put the remaining cake mix on top. Spread carefully.
Bake 15 minutes.
Cake will not look done.
Let set 8 to 12 hours before serving.
Delicious!
