Melt caramels and 1/4 cup evaporated milk.

Keep warm.

Mix cake mix, butter and 3/4 cup evaporated milk.

Place a little less than half the cake mixture in a greased 9 x 12-inch pan. Bake at 350Β° for 10 minutes.

Pour melted caramels over cake and sprinkle nuts and chips on top.

Spread other half of cake mixture over the top and bake for 15 minutes.
