Turkish Pilau
Turkish Pilau is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2/3 cup minute rice, 1/4 cup butter (or margarine), 1 can tomato soup, 1 can diced tomatoes and 1 cup cooked small (or salad) shrimp, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.
Cook rice.
Melt butter or margarine.
Add onion and rice. Cook for 5 minutes.
Add tomato soup and diced tomatoes, shrimp, pepper and paprika.
Cook 10 minutes over medium heat.
Add a dash of cayenne pepper (to taste).
Fold in mayonnaise or salad dressing just before serving. Makes about 4 servings. Serve hot with a green salad and hot biscuits.
