Troy's Turtle Cake
Troy'S Turtle Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. caramels, 1 c. sweetened condensed milk, divided, 1 german chocolate cake mix, 1 1/2 sticks margarine and 1/2 c. sweetened condensed milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Melt package of caramels with 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk.
Stir cake mix with margarine and 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk.
Spread less than 1/2 of batter in greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake for 6 minutes at 350°; remove from oven. Sprinkle with nuts.
Spread melted caramels on top.
Sprinkle chocolate chips.
To other half of batter, add 3 tablespoons water and spread on top of chocolate chips.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes (no longer) at 350°; remove from oven.
Let cool and serve.
