Tomato Soup
Tomato Soup is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 bushel tomatoes, cook and run through colander, 1 bunch celery, 8 onions, 1 pod banana pepper and 2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Cook tomatoes; run through colander.
Cook celery, onions and banana pepper together.
Make a paste with some of the cooled tomato paste and the flour.
Bring all of the ingredients to a slow boil and cook 30 minutes.
Put in sterilized jars; seal.
Put jars in a hot water bath for 20 minutes.
Makes approximately 12 quarts.
