Toffee Cookie Squares
Toffee Cookie Squares is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter or margarine, 1/2 c. shortening, 1 c. brown sugar, 1 egg yolk and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Mix all ingredients, except chocolate bits and nuts, and put in large pan.
Mixture is crumbly.
Bake in slow oven at 325Β° for 15 to 20 minutes.
Then melt chocolate bits and pour over top while cookies are still warm.
Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
Do not cut until cold.
