Toffee Bars
Toffee Bars is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. brown sugar, packed, 1 c. softened margarine, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 egg yolk and 2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Heat oven to 350Β°.
Mix brown sugar, margarine, vanilla and egg yolk.
Stir in flour and salt.
Press in greased rectangular pan (13 x 9 x 2-inch).
Bake until very light brown, 25 to 30 minutes.
Crust will be soft.
Immediately place chocolate chips on crust.
Put back in oven until melted.
Spread evenly. Sprinkle with nuts; cut into bars while warm.
Yields 32 (2 x 1 1/2-inch) bars.
