Toffee Bars
Toffee Bars is an easy dinner. Made with 1 c. butter, 1 c. brown sugar, 1 egg yolk and 2 c. flour, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.

Cream shortening.
Add sugar and cream together; add egg yolk. Mix and add flour and mix well.
Spread on a buttered cookie sheet with hands and bake about 25 minutes at 350Β°.
(Dough will be stiff.)
While this is baking, melt 1 large bar Hershey milk chocolate bar and about 6 ounces chocolate chips in top of double boiler.
Spread on top of bars the minute you take them out of the oven and sprinkle with ground walnuts.
Cut in squares while warm and leave on cookie sheet several hours until chocolate hardens.
