Toffee Bars is an easy dinner. Made with 1 3/4 c. sugar, 1 c. margarine, softened, 1 c. sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 egg yolk (reserve egg white), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Beat all ingredients until well mixed.
Pat evenly onto greased 10 x 15-inch cookie sheet.
Beat egg white and brush over dough.
Sprinkle 1/2 cup finely chopped almonds or walnuts and pat gently into dough.
