Tijuana Torte
Tijuana Torte is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 lb. ground beef, 1 medium onion, chopped, 1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes, 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce and 1 (4 oz.) can green chili peppers, diced, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Brown ground beef and onion; drain.
Add stewed tomatoes, tomato sauce, chili peppers and taco seasoning mix.
Simmer mixture for 10 to 15 minutes.
In a 9 x 13-inch pan, place 1/2 of the meat.
Cover with 2 tortillas and 1/2 of the pound of grated cheese.
Continue with meat mixture, tortillas and cheese.
Spread sour cream on the top of the casserole; sprinkle with 1/2 cup grated cheese.
Bake at 350Β° for 25 minutes, or until bubbly. Serves 8.
